Library Programming for the Community
Paint with Magenta offers engaging watercolor workshops for kids, tweens, teens, adults, seniors, or groups of all ages.
We serve the Willamette Valley and beyond, with flexibility to accommodate your programming budget and schedule.
This workshop will focus on the basic techniques that are essential for watercolor painting. We will be covering composition, brush technique, color mixing, and much more. Each lesson is easy to follow with clear step-by-step instructions so participants can build confidence as watercolor artists. No experience necessary, all levels of artists are welcome to join! Paintings will be completed on 8”x10” watercolor paper, and mats are provided so that the painting is frame-ready. All art supplies are provided.
Pricing starts at $20 per participant. A $25 travel fee is incurred for any travel outside of the Salem-Keizer area.

Pet Portrait Workshop
Participants paint their own beloved pets! Instructions are tailored to each student and they all walk away with an amazing, unique, and precious piece of art. Recommended for ages 13+ and the workshop is about 2 hours.
Kid's Character Workshop
In this workshop, kids get to choose a character from a book that they'd like to recreate. In the past we've done Gerald and Piggy, The Pigeon, DogMan, and many more. The participants build skills, get to make personal artistic desicions about their piece, and take home a matted masterpiece. Recommended for ages 6+ and the workshop is about 90 minutes.
Postcard or Bookmark Making Workshop
This mini-workshop will focus on keeping things small. Bookmarks or postcards will be an achievable way for students to build confidence and have fun! Recommended for ages 6+ and the workshop runs 90 minutes.
Teen or Tween OC Workshop
This new workshop involves young people's creative vision in developing and planning out Original Characters from their own imagination. We work through brainstorming ideas and creating a cohesive visual of their character. Recommended for ages 10+ and the workshop runs 2 hours.
